Early in the 1930's, Eric Collier moved his wife and baby son to Meldrum Creek, where the couple built their own log house and learned to live off the land.
His book of recollections about the years that he and his family spent homesteading in the isolated Chilcotin wilderness made for an international bestseller and is one of the most famous books ever written about British Columbia.
